Specialty in Organization and Management of Production Systems
This specialization provides advanced training in the optimization of processes and systems within organizations, particularly in the areas of production, manufacturing, and services. To this end, the work of Industrial Engineers specializing in this field consists of ensuring the efficient use of resources, with the aim of increasing productivity, improving quality, and reducing costs. Their main responsibilities include: the design and improvement of production systems, production planning and management, inventory control and management, operations scheduling, the implementation and supervision of quality systems, the economic analysis of processes, and the management of teams.
To this end, the curriculum has been designed so that the first year includes training in quantitative optimization tools and in the design and management of production processes. In the second year, the training focuses on various functions associated with operations management, such as asset management, operations scheduling, and the integration of advanced production systems.
With training in this specialty, graduates will be able to manage production and service systems in companies in different sectors, applying efficient methods in the management of operations.
In the 2025/26 academic year, the first-year courses and some second-year courses will be offered (the remaining second-year courses will be offered in 2026/27). These courses are taken concurrently with the Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Technology Engineering ( GITI-2010 ). The following table shows the correspondence between the courses in this specialization and those in GITI-2010.
| Subject of the specialty | It is taught in GITI-2010 under the name of |
| Quantitative Management Methods | Quantitative methods of industrial organization |
| Process Analysis and Design | Product and process design |
| Systems Modeling and Optimization | Optimization Techniques |
| Production Systems Management | Production Systems Management |
| Advanced Production Systems | It is taught at the MII (see MII timetable) |
