Specialty in Organization and Management of Production Systems
This specialty provides advanced training in the optimization of processes and systems within organizations, especially in the fields of production, manufacturing and services. For this, the work of the industrial engineers of this specialty will consist in guaranteeing efficient use of resources, with the aim of increasing productivity, improving quality and reducing costs. Among its main responsibilities are: the design and improvement of production systems, the planning and management of the production, control and management of inventories, the programming of operations, the implementation and supervision of quality systems, the economic analysis of processes and the management of human equipment.
For this, the curriculum has been designed so that in the first year training is included in quantitative tools for optimization and in the design and management of production processes. While in the second year, the training focuses on various functions associated with the area of operations management such as asset management, operations programming and the integration of advanced production systems.
With training in this specialty, graduates will be able to manage the production and services systems in companies from different sectors, with the application of efficient methods in the direction of operations.
In the 2025/26 course, the subjects of the first course and some second (in 2026/27 will be offered the rest of those of the second year). These subjects are taken together with the degree in Industrial Technologies Engineering ( GITI-2010 ). The following table shows the correspondence between the subjects of the specialty and those of the Giti-2010.
