Units of Excellence: ENGREEN
The “ Unit of Excellence Engineering Laboratory for Energy and Environmental Sustainability ” was created on June 22, 2020 by the Governing Council of the University of Seville, according to agreement 6.1.1/CG 22-6-20. It currently uses the name ENGREEN .
Its fundamental objective is the establishment of a Unit of Excellence between different research groups of the University of Seville that carry out their activity in the Higher Technical School of Engineering, working in the line of engineering for energy and environmental sustainability. In this way, it is intended to achieve in the coming years the quality required in the research team necessary for a positive evaluation and accreditation in the call "María de Maeztu Units of Excellence" of the State Subprogram for Institutional Strengthening, within the framework of the State Program for Promotion of Scientific and Technical Research of Excellence of the State Plan for Scientific and Technical Research and Innovation 2017-2020 and future.
ENGREEN brings together a critical mass of researchers of great international prestige, who work in complementary areas, with experience in collaboration on some specific topics and with an interest in working more intensively together, joining efforts to achieve greater synergy and multidisciplinary character.
It has around twenty researchers who carry out their work at the Higher Technical School of Engineering of the University of Seville in the following departments:

Electronic Engineering
Energy Engineering
Mechanical Engineering and Manufacturing
Chemical and Environmental Engineering

The Unit has been working together since its creation in 2020 and many collaborative actions have already been carried out, obtaining results in the form of publications in JCR magazines and participation in projects and networks.
