INERCO Chair

The energy landscape of the future presents significant economic and environmental risks, as well as challenges for society and industry. Efficient energy use, the harnessing of renewable energy sources, new-generation fuels, and contributions to a sustainable energy model are current realities and necessities.

Scientific and technological development in the field of energy efficiency is clearly one of the challenges for our country, in which all key agents – administration, public research bodies and companies – play an essential role.

The INERCO Chair organizes activities that aim to provide technological solutions to the challenges of the future energy and environmental landscape, in which we analyze in detail aspects such as:

  • The energy scenario of the future; its challenges, risks and technological needs.
  • Public Research Organizations as key agents for technological development.
  • Industrial experiences in the electricity and oil refining sectors.
  • The policies and instruments promoted by the Administration.

The INERCO Chair aims to promote interdisciplinary teaching and research activities that study the reality, problems, perspectives, risks and challenges of industry and society in the areas of Environment, Safety and Sustainable Development, from all points of view considered relevant, taking care of developing the training program and research tasks that contribute to improving the training of ETSi students in these subjects.

The Chair has an international focus, for which it follows the main events in the field, and especially the regulatory component.
