EUDIS Defense Hackathon 2025 [RETIRED]

International event organized by the European Space Agency in collaboration with its technology broker in Spain.
The event will take place in Madrid, at the ETSIAE, from October 17 to 19, 2025, and will bring together researchers and professionals from the sector to develop innovative solutions in the fields of defense and space. Over the course of a weekend, teams will work with the support of specialized mentors and present their proposals to solve technological challenges posed by ESA before an expert jury.
The three main challenges posed to participants are:
Protection of space assets: resilience against physical and cyber threats to infrastructure and satellites;
Geospatial analysis for multi-domain operations: AI-based tools and Earth observation for situational awareness;
and Resilience with unmanned systems: development of low-cost and rapidly deployable autonomous air, sea, or land solutions.

Navarro, head of the Civil Protection Service (General Directorate of Emergency and Civil Protection of the Junta de Andalucía) to dialogue about the management of floods in the Guadalquivir basin. I Joint Symposium of CEA's thematic groups: Tribute to Professor Francisco Rodríguez Rubio [retired]

From January 22 to 24, the ETSI hosts the "I Joint Symposium of the CEA Thematic Groups of Control Engineering, Modeling, Simulation and Optimization, and Automatic Education (SIME25)." One of the main events of the program will be the tribute to Professor Francisco Rodríguez Rubio, former director of the ETSI. This event will take place on Thursday, January 23 at 6:30 p.m. in the Hall of Degrees. Firstly, the professor will give a plenary conference titled "Solar Energy and its Control. Key to the Energy Transition", followed by an act of tribute to his figure. SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY OF BEER MAKING (II EDITION) [RETIRED]

This course has a precedent in the Expert Diploma modality (Expert Diploma in Science and Technology of Brewing) of which the VII Edition was carried out in 2022/23. The second edition is currently offered as a Continuing Training course. The main objective of the course is to show a global vision of the beer-making process, through the direct transfer of knowledge, and spaces for reflection and debate. The specific objectives are: (i) Address the beer brewing process from both a scientific and technological point of view. (ii) Show in a practical way the steps necessary for the manufacture and packaging of beer in a real plant. (iii) Present real problems of the beer industry and their possible solutions.

The Higher Technical School of Engineering of the University of Seville organizes the Seville Forum on Machinery for Decarbonization, in collaboration with international technology providers. The extraordinary call for the Leonardo Scholarships for Scientific Research and Cultural Creation 2024 of the BBVA Foundation, limited to the areas of Physics and Chemistry and Engineering, is intended to support the development of personal and innovative projects of researchers in an intermediate stage of their career , residing in Spain and between 30 and 45 years old (both inclusive) at the time of application. ​ The projects will have a minimum duration of 12 months and a maximum of 18 months. The University of Seville has opened a call for internships in rural areas financed by the Provincial Council of Seville. The internship lasts 3 months to be carried out between January 1 and April 25, 2025 in Sevillian towns with less than 5,000 inhabitants, or between 5,000 and 15,000 if they have suffered depopulation in the last 10 years.
