IMSE-CNM was established in October 1989 as a joint center of the Spanish Research Council CSIC and the University of Seville. Our mission is to conduct high-quality research to innovate on digital technologies and impact society and industry locally, nationally, and globally.
Our research group is one of Spain's most highly regarded research groups in hardware security. We are also proud to coordinate and participate in a range of EU-funded research projects such as DECIDE (https://eurocdp.eu/), SPIRS (https://www.spirs-project.eu), QUBIP (https://qubip.eu), Q-FENCE, and SQPRIM, advancing in the next generation of security solutions. This group has recently established a new research line in photonic security.

About the role
We're looking for a Research Assistant to join our team and help shape the future of photonic security. You'll play a key role in designing photonic integrated circuits and micro-interconnects for die-to-die communications, contributing to achieve the goals of several ongoing research projects and industrial contracts. You'll work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team, contributing to high-quality research that makes a difference.
This is a full-time post (37.5 hours/week), open-ended. The salary range will be Grade M2/M3 (approx. €29,000 - €40,000 per annum, gross, depending on qualifications).

About you

You should have:
• A BSc, an MSc, or a PhD in Photonics, Engineering, Physics, or related fields.
• Experience of performing numerical simulations and designing integrated devices.
• Experience testing photonic devices.
• Strong programming skills in Python or Matlab.
