The pencil and eraser are nearing their end. A new machine, the computer, seriously threatens their presence on work tables.

At STT – Telecommunications, the first fiber optic installations were carried out, with the Tajo Central and Guillena links chosen for testing. During this period, the advancement of telecommunications within the electric companies was unstoppable. Instrumentation, Radio, and Calibration laboratories were established. Computers were installed on every workstation used by the company's operators. Decentralized administrative services were eliminated, and each technician became responsible for preparing their own documents.

Everything is ready for virtual communications. Generator sets are installed at the Repeater Stations, and the first Provincial Switching Center in Málaga is created for the operation of the Provincial Electrical Grid. These are the years of the monthly interprovincial meetings where valuable personal experiences are shared for the benefit of all
