Strategic Plan of the Higher Technical School of Engineering
Mission and vision of our school

- Serve students through higher quality training, demanded, and recognizable inside and outside the University of Seville.
- Contribute to the development of knowledge, its transfer to society and innovation in all areas related to engineering, with special attention to the regional productive fabric.
- Generate prestigious professionals in the various branches of engineering, which are characterized by the values of the center and contribute to the improvement of society.

Strategic objectives
The ETSI has defined a series of strategic objectives that are aligned with its mission and vision, in order to guide the development of the center in the coming years:
- Internationalization: To improve international recognition to improve the offer of mobility (Erasmus, double degrees), the internationalization of the center, and collaboration with world prestige schools.
- Efficiency in infrastructure and services: Improve the user orientation of the services offered, minimizing the bureaucracy and adapting the processes to the needs of users and an efficient use of resources.
- Continuous improvement: Promote a continuous improvement mentality both in staff and students. Identify areas of improvement and be proactive in the search for solutions.
- Commitment and participation: Increase the participation of students, teachers and PTGAS in the activities of the school, creating a greater connection and feeling of belonging.
- Brand improvement: Improve and promote the image of ETSI both internally and externally, highlighting the quality and variety of studies and activities.
- Teaching quality: Increase students' satisfaction with teaching without losing academic rigor, providing a demanding but assumed learning environment.
- Promotion of interdisciplinary activity: Facilitate collaboration between different disciplines / departments, both among teachers and between students, promoting projects and activities that combine various branches of engineering.
- Collaboration with companies: Strengthen the relationship with the productive sector, promoting contracts and projects that contribute to technological update and improve the connection between the training and the practice of the profession. Promotion of entrepreneurship.
- Sustainability of academic offer and talent collection: Adapt the official educational offer and its own so that it is always valuable and demanded by the productive sector, continuously valuing the needs and technologies of the market, the regulations, and the available resources. Promotion and collection of talent for our degree and master's studies.
- Improve resources available for the center: Increase and improve the center's spaces. Increase Center's income from projects and contracts with companies, in order to improve infrastructure and services offered.
The advance towards the achievement of the above objectives necessarily implies the realization of numerous improvement actions regarding the current situation. These must be identified, defined, prioritized and executed by the management team through internal plans where lines of action and improvement initiatives aligned with the objectives of this plan are defined. The change must also be nourished by improvement initiatives arising from any member of the center (professed, technical services, students) in a context of continuous improvement.
Assessment of the starting situation
It is convenient to have an initial assessment on the degree of (in) compliance with each of the previous objectives at the beginning of the period of the plan. This assessment marks the starting point from which to go through the path of improvement towards the full achievement of the objectives. To do this, it has been chosen, for simplicity and efficiency, for performing a subjective assessment (of the management team) on a series of facts or states related to the achievement of each objective. These are detailed in Annex A. Figure 1 shows the results of this assessment on a scale of 1 to 5 (1 - It is not fulfilled at all, 5 - is fully fulfilled).

According to this initial assessment, the objectives of which we are currently being: O3 (continuous improvement mentality), O4 (commitment and participation of students and personnel) and O7 (Interdisciplinary Development). The objectives in which there is less way to go (assessment between 5 and 6 out of 10) are: O1 (internationalization), O9 (relationship with companies). This subjective assessment should not be taken as the note of an exam, but as a way of identifying aspects of improvement to which to dedicate efforts over the next few years.
