Computer equipment loan
The purpose of this document is to establish the terms under which the computer equipment loan service of the Computing Center is offered.
The regulatory provisions included in this document apply to the computer equipment available to offer the service, and to potential users of the service, as specified in the following sections.
Potential users of the service are teaching and research staff, and service administration staff assigned to, or with unequivocal links to, the ETSI. From now on, the person who is granted computer equipment on loan under the terms established in this document will be called the beneficiary.
The computer equipment intended for the loan service will consist of servers, personal computers, peripheral devices and electronic components, which are fully functional, but have been removed or replaced due to technical obsolescence, loss of performance or superior computing needs.
The decision on the equipment available for loan is the exclusive responsibility of the Calculation Center.
- The equipment loan must be for a fixed period, established in the loan form, and never longer than three months.
- Transfer, usufruct or rental to third parties is not permitted.
- Collection, return and transportation are the responsibility of the beneficiary.
- The installation and maintenance of the equipment, during the loan period, is the responsibility of the beneficiary.
- The beneficiary is responsible for the custody and proper use of the loaned equipment.
- In the event of loss of the loaned equipment or any of its accessories, the beneficiary is responsible for replacing them.
The allocation of equipment will seek to maximize the number of groups benefiting from the service (departments, areas, research groups, personnel), and will be carried out according to the availability of equipment, taking into account the following criteria:
- Quantity of equipment requested.
- Purpose of the loan.
- Loan duration.
The management of the loan of computer equipment is carried out entirely through User Information of the Calculation Center.
