ESIEM: An engineering and employment meeting in which the most significant companies in the Sector participate

The Higher Technical School of Engineering celebrated its Engineering and Employment Conference (ESIEM 2024)  than this year it will celebrate its twenty-first edition. 

The Higher Technical School of Engineering of the University of Seville, ETSi, held on March 20 the 21st Edition of the Meeting on Engineering and Employment (ESIEM) 2024, an annual event held since 2003 with the aim of provoking a first rapprochement between the students and companies and institutions from the different fields of engineering.

This meeting, which is held in a science and innovation environment such as the Cartuja Science and Technology Park, offers an exceptional framework for companies to meet first-hand future engineers who meet the professional profiles they demand, as well as for the students. , which makes their first contact with the world of work that awaits them on a not-too-distant horizon.

In this edition, ESIEM has had the presence of more than 70 companies from the industrial field, as well as institutions that also require the incorporation of engineers to their staff. The international nature of the meeting is evident by the participation of multinationals such as Indra, Persán, Acciona, Cepsa, Acerinox, NTTData, Huawei, Cosentino, Airbus and many others ( https://www.esiem.es/expcon.php ). Likewise, the presence of numerous national companies and institutions that have a great economic impact on the region, both due to their volume of business and the numbers of job creation, stands out, such as Emasesa, Accenture, Ayesa, Elecnor or Idener, among others. Nor have institutions such as the Professional Associations, the Ministry of Defense, CATEC, CTA or the Andalucía Aerospace Cluster, among others, missed this annual event.

During the day, presentations and conferences of interest to students were held by the companies, allowing for a closer connection between both; companies that need to incorporate new profiles and students into their ranks, who in the short term future will become in-demand professionals.

Due to its long history and with the characteristic of always being held in person, the Engineering and Employment Meeting, ESIEM, has become a benchmark among meetings and employment fairs within the framework of engineering at the national level, with participation of more than 3,000 attendees, being the perfect setting for the beginning of the relationship between students in the last years of their studies or recent graduates of the different degrees taught at the ETSI with the world of work, thanks to the offer of employment and internships. carried out by the participating companies and the guidance they provide to the future engineer.
