BeOneSec Chair of Cybersecurity and Cyberintelligence
The BeOneSec Chair of Cybersecurity and Cyberintelligence aims to promote research and development, innovation and dissemination in one of the most critical and rapidly growing fields today: cybersecurity.
The Chair of Cybersecurity and Cyberintelligence, created in collaboration between the University of Seville and BeOneSec, is part of a cooperation strategy between the university and the private sector. Its main objective is to promote research, dissemination and promotion of talent in cybersecurity, providing value to both the academic field and the business sector.
This collaboration seeks the development of advanced knowledge in cybersecurity with special emphasis on cyber-intelligence, as well as the training of highly qualified professionals and raising awareness of society about the importance of digital protection.
To achieve this, activities will be jointly developed in various areas:
- Research, Development and Innovation: proposals for scholarships and academically directed work that allow carrying out small prospective research in cybersecurity and cyberintelligence, as well as participation in technological conferences and forums. The objective is finding solutions that get ahead of emerging threats rather than simply reacting to them
- Dissemination and awareness: organization of dissemination activities, seminars, conferences and events that allow the transfer of knowledge in cybersecurity by sector experts, generating educational material and actively collaborating with the media.
- Promotion of training activities in cybersecurity: development of business practices, participation in teaching regulated subjects and creation of specific training actions for the university community.
The BeOneSec Cybersecurity and Cyberintelligence Chair consolidates the commitment to innovation and continuous improvement in cybersecurity.
The Directorate of the Chair is carried out by Rafael Estepa Alonso, Professor of the Department of Telematics Engineering at the University of Seville and director of the Master's Degree in Information and Communications Security at the University of Seville. The secretary of the chair is professor José Manuel Fornés Rumbao.
