BeOneSec Chair of Cybersecurity and Cyberintelligence

The BeOneSec Cybersecurity and Cyberintelligence Chair aims to promote research and development, innovation and dissemination in one of today's most critical and rapidly growing fields: cybersecurity.

The Cybersecurity and Cyberintelligence Chair, created in collaboration between the University of Seville and BeOneSec, is part of a strategy of cooperation between the university and the private sector. Its main objective is to promote research, dissemination, and talent development in cybersecurity, adding value to both academia and the business sector.

This collaboration seeks to develop advanced knowledge in cybersecurity with special emphasis on cyber intelligence, as well as the training of highly qualified professionals and raising awareness in society about the importance of digital protection.

To achieve this, activities will be developed jointly in various areas:

  • Research, Development and Innovation: proposals for scholarships and academically directed work that allow for small prospective research in cybersecurity and cyber intelligence, as well as participation in technological congresses and forums. The objective is the search for solutions that allow us to anticipate emerging threats instead of simply reacting to them
  • Dissemination and awareness:  Organization of dissemination activities, seminars, conferences and events that allow the transfer of cybersecurity knowledge by industry experts, generating educational material and actively collaborating with the media.
  • Promotion of training activities in cybersecurity: development of company practices, participation in the teaching of regulated subjects and creation of specific training actions for the university community.

The BeOneSec Cybersecurity and Cyberintelligence Chair consolidates the commitment to innovation and continuous improvement in cybersecurity.

The Chair is headed by Rafael Estepa Alonso, Professor in the Department of Telematics Engineering at the University of Seville and Director of the Master's Program in Information and Communications Security at the University of Seville. The Chair's Secretary is Professor José Manuel Fornés Rumbao.
