Specialty in Design of Industrial Structures and Constructions
Within engineering, any artifact or construction is either a structure in itself or is equipped with one for its proper functioning. The diverse areas of application within industrial engineering result in a wide variety of typologies, functionalities, and loads to which industrial structures and constructions are subjected. This diversity necessitates the training of engineering professionals with in-depth knowledge of the fundamentals, materials, resistant mechanisms and calculation methods for the Design of Industrial Structures and Constructions, who also know the application areas specific to the profession.
This specialization offers the necessary training for the development of designs that allow for finding a functional, durable and safe solution, suitable for each case and that also respects environmental requirements The development of sustainability in the construction sector. It must be taken into account that industrial structures and buildings of all types are subject to national regulations that guarantee their functionality and safety. This fact necessitates the existence of professionals in our social environment who address this social and economic function of the profession.
In the 2025/26 academic year, the first-year courses will be offered, and in 2026/27, the second-year courses. These courses are taken concurrently with the Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Technology Engineering ( GITI-2010 ). The following table shows the correspondence between the courses in this specialization and those in GITI-2010.
