Seville hosts the International Congress on Industrial Engineering focused on data science and sustainability

More than 140 experts from seven countries meet from July 3 to 4, 2025 at the Higher Technical School of Engineering (ETSI) of the University of Seville to participate in the 19th International Conference on Industrial Engineering and Industrial Management (ICIEIM) and theXXIX Organization Engineering Congress (CIO 2025).

Organized by the Association for the Development of Organization Engineering (Adingor)and the Department of Industrial Organization and Business Management of the University of Seville , Congress brings together researchers and professionals from the academic and industrial field, who will share more than 150 papers focused on the latest advances in organization engineering, operational efficiency and applied data science. It will be an exceptional opportunity for scientific collaboration, promoting a unique forum to disseminate, in all academic and industrial areas, information on the most recent and relevant research, theories and practices in industrial engineering and operations management.

The inaugural session has been chaired by Miguel Ángel Castro Arroyo, rector of the University of Seville and has had the presence of Lorena Garrido Serrano, vice -council of university, research and innovation; Andrés Sáez Pérez, director of the Higher Technical School of Engineering of the University of Seville; María del Mar Alemany Díaz, President of Adingor; and Pablo Cortés Achedad, organizer of Congress.

Under the motto "Data Science: Challenges and Applications in Industrial Engineering", this edition puts the focus on data management and analysis as a strategic tool to optimize decisions, reduce impacts and improve the quality of life. From logistics to health, through transport or energy, the application of scientific models in the organization of systems allows to build safer, humans and sustainable environments.

The event consolidates a trajectory initiated in 1986 and held annually since 1999 in different Spanish cities, such as Barcelona (2023) and Madrid (2024), consolidating itself as a reference forum for the dissemination of innovative investigations and real solutions in the field of organization engineering.

Organization Engineering: From data to social improvement

Organization engineering not only improves business processes; Also transform the environments where we live. By applying data analysis tools in areas such as hospital care, urban distribution or energy consumption, more personalized, efficient and responsible systems are achieved, aligning productivity with social and environmental commitment.

Seville, a strategic scenario for global debate

The choice of Seville as the headquarters of the Congress responds to both its academic relevance and its strategic profile. City with a solid industrial heritage and a strong commitment to innovation - with poles such as the port of Seville, the Aeropolis Park or the Cartuja Scientific and Technological Park - represents an ideal environment to address the current challenges of organizational engineering.

In addition to its excellent connectivity and hotel supply, the Andalusian capital offers an unique cultural and human framework, making this congress an enriching professional and personal experience. The Sevilla University, one of the oldest and most prestigious in the country, provides the academic rigor necessary to connect the local and international research talent with the real needs of the productive fabric.
