The University of Seville and Axión sign an agreement to boost innovation and training in telecommunications

 

This alliance will encourage talent, generate innovation and respond to the technological challenges of the future.

The University of Seville and Axion have formalized a collaboration agreement for the promotion of joint actions aimed at the development of research projects, training activities and scientific dissemination. 

This agreement has been signed by Araceli García, CEO of Axión and Manuel Felipe Rosa, Vice Chancellor for the Transfer of Knowledge of the University of Seville. 

After the signing of the agreement, the axion managers and the direction of the Higher Technical School of Engineering of the University of Seville held a first meeting in which the lines of action that will be carried out after the establishment of this new institutional relationship were defined.  

Axión, is a company of Andalusian origin, based in Valencina de la Concepción and a workforce of more than 150 professionals. With more than 25 years of experience in the telecommunications sector, it offers a wide range of services, including: radio and television dissemination services, accommodation and sharing of infrastructure in its more than 600 locations and emergency networks, such as the digital network of the Junta de Andalucía. It also provides backhaul transport services for mobile networks through a network consisting of more than 8,000 radio stations and long -distance connectivity with more than 5,700 km of optical fiber.

The agreement signed between Axión and the University of Seville establishes a framework for the cooperation and development of activities aimed at promoting degree in engineering of telecommunication technologies and university master's degree in Telecommunication Engineering that are taught in the Higher Technical School of Engineering, in the following key areas:

• Research and Development: With the joint realization of innovative technological projects.

• Academic training: Through scholarships, company practices and end of grade/master's projects.

• Disclosure and knowledge: Through courses, congresses and activities that contribute to the transfer of mutual knowledge between the academic and business field, creating a collaborative ecosystem that promotes the generation of innovative solutions to face emerging technological challenges.

With this collaboration agreement, Axión also reinforces its social commitment, promoting initiatives that generate impact on technological and social fabric, favoring the employability of graduates of these titles.
