The ETSI attends as a member of the 8th General Assembly of the Heritage Network in Dresde

The Higher Technical School of Engineering (ETSI) of the University of Seville actively participated in the 8th General Assembly of the Heritage Network, held on May 13 and 14, 2025 at the Technical University of Dresde (Tu Dresden). The representation of the ETSI was in charge of its director, Andrés Sáez Pérez; the Deputy Director of International Relations, Juan José Murillo Fuentes; and Professor Miguel Ángel González Cagigal.

The event brought together representatives of universities throughout Europe and India with the aim of strengthening academic cooperation and defining the future of global engineering education. The inaugural session featured outstanding interventions of Prof. Ronald Tetzlaff and Prof. Ercan Altinsoy (Tu Dresden), Prof. Teresa Zielińska (Technological University of Warsaw and President of the Network), and Prof. Vimal Chandra Srisvastava (Vice President of the Network).

Under the global education , the program included eight conferences that addressed experiences in teaching, research and innovation within the network. spring workshop on sustainability in mechanical engineering was held for the first time , aimed at doctoral students.

Among the relevant decisions of this edition, three new members were chosen for the Steering and Executive Committee (SEC), the National Institute of Calicut Technology (India) was incorporated as a new member, and it was announced that the IIT ISM of Dhanbad will host the 2026 Assembly. The Honary Member figure of the SEC for active ex -women without the right to vote.

With 28 participating institutions (15 of India and 13 of Europe), the Heritage network reaffirms its commitment to excellence in education and research, promoting the development of joint programs, thematic workshops and the internationalization of higher education.

The ETSI currently has agreements with IIT of Madras and Iit (ISM) of Dhanbad. Likewise, the ETSI is in negotiations to extend the agreement to other IIT.
