US Racing unveils its second electric motorcycle prototype

The official motorcycle racing team of the University of Seville, USRacing, based at the Higher Technical School of Engineering , presented its second electric prototype this Wednesday at the University's Rectorate.

For this new edition, building on the knowledge and experience gained from their first electric prototype, USRacing has designed a vehicle that stands out for its improved ergonomics and functionality. Learning from past mistakes, they have made improvements to structural components to reduce weight and to the aesthetics, without sacrificing practicality.

This achievement is the result of the application of innovative ideas and constant growth by a multidisciplinary team, which integrates members from different centers and faculties, whose knowledge and diversity of approaches are of great value to the team.

Most of its members belong to the Higher Technical School of Engineering (ETSi), located in the Cartuja Science and Technology Park (PCT Cartuja), although USRacing also includes students from the Higher Polytechnic School (EPS) and the Higher Technical School of Computer Engineering (ETSII), as well as the Faculties of Mathematics, Law, Communication, Economics and Business, and Physics. Together, they contribute their skills and passion toward a common goal: to face the climate and innovation challenges of our time in the world of motorsports.

Example of passion

“USRacing is much more than a student team: it’s an example of passion, innovation, and commitment to the environment. Our participation in the MotoStudent International Competition, where we compete against universities from around the world to create the best electric motorcycle , is proof that dreams can come true,” says the team’s marketing manager.

The MotoStudent International Competition values both the technical and economic aspects of the project, as well as its applicability to the world of motorcycling and road safety. Therefore, the team prepares meticulously throughout the year to achieve the best results in all categories.

“With every braking maneuver, acceleration, time trial, and race, USRacing pushes its prototype to the limit, demonstrating that the spirit of overcoming challenges is the driving force behind its achievements. With every turn of the wheel, they are forging a more sustainable and exciting future . USRacing is not just a team, but a source of inspiration for all those who believe that no dream is too big and that passion and innovation can change the world,” says the team leader.

14 years of passion and innovation

In 2009, a group of students from the Higher Technical School of Engineering at the University of Seville, passionate about the world of motors , engineering and with a shared vision of what they wanted their time at university to be, brought the USRacing team to life, starting from the idea of a modest combustion prototype.

The first five years of this journey were a period of constant growth , not only in technical terms but also in human terms, as the team incorporated students from different centers and faculties who contributed their knowledge and enthusiasm to the project. Each challenge was tackled with determination, and the team surrounded itself with the best support to achieve an audacious goal : to build a prototype that would mark a new stage in its commitment to the environment.

In 2019, a decade after its founding, USRacing took a momentous step by creating its first electric prototype . This commitment to sustainability not only filled the team with enthusiasm but also marked the beginning of a long-term project, in which respect for the environment became an essential part of its DNA.

The project to create a new motorcycle prototype is a monumental challenge for the team, and its success would not be possible without the support of its sponsors and the invaluable collaboration of the Higher Technical School of Engineering and the University of Seville. USRacing wishes to express its sincere gratitude to all of them for the trust they have placed in the team.
