The Higher Technical School of Engineering of the University of Seville (ETSI) receives this week more than 1,800 second -year high school students or second course of higher degree training cycles with access to engineering studies, willing to know the center and its facilities, as well as the degrees that are taught and the research that is carried out.

The visiting students, accompanied by their tutors, are received in the auditorium by the management of the ETSI, which presents the school and their offer of degrees, practices, mobility, professional exits, as well as the research activities that are They carry out in the center. Next, they are taken to tour the offices of the Higher Technical School of Engineering of the University of Seville (ETSI), both the central building and the workshop and laboratory building, with special emphasis on research laboratories. This year, in addition, they will be able to meet the members of the Center Student Associations closely, with whom they will be able to exchange opinions and doubts regarding engineering and university life studies.

More than 70 secondary education centers in Seville Capital and Province have come to the annual call that the ETSI address does in order to explain to the possible future students the training and research work of the school and the studies that can study If, finally, they decide to opt for the different degrees given in engineering.

The realization of these days is framed within the initiative of the ETSI management that aims to make a real and practical approach of the degrees offered in this center as well as the research carried out in the field of engineering to students Baccalaureate and higher cycles that in the coming months will have to make one of the most important decisions of their lives: the choice of university studies to study, which will affect their academic future and, later, work.

The Higher Technical School of Engineering currently has more than 6000 students who are formed by 480 teachers, being the annual number of graduates greater than 700. to its offer of eight degrees of degrees, the 11 masters are joined, a double Master, and four doctoral programs, who encompass almost 1,500 students again every year. Its academic community thus exceeds 6,000 students, more than 500 teachers and researchers, being the total number of annual graduates exceeding 700. 

The ETSI promotes these types of activities to publicize some studies that lead to the development of the engineer's profession that, currently, has one of the lowest or practically null unemployment rates both nationally and internationally. A study carried out by the Spanish Engineering Observatory emphasizes that in the next 10 years, more than 200,000 new engineers in Spain will be needed to meet the needs of its business and economic development.
