Civil Engineering students visit La Cementera Portland Valderrivas in Seville

Second course students in Civil Engineering of the Higher Technical Engineering Escuela of the University of Seville conducted a technical visit to the Cementos Portland Valderrivas SA facilities, located in Seville. The activity was framed within the subject "Construction Materials Technology" and was directed by Professor Pilar Díaz Carrasco.

The visit, financed by the Higher Technical School of Engineering (ETSI) through its support program for academic activities through bus transport, allowed students to know in depth the process of manufacturing the cement, one of the fundamental materials in civil engineering.

During the day, the students received a detailed technical explanation about the different systems and stages of the cement production process. In addition, they made a guided tour of the plant's facilities, including a visit to the laboratories, where they could observe compression resistance tests made on different cement samples.

The technical session was in charge of Carlos José Rodríguez Fínez , Head of Quality of the Cementos Portland Valderrivas Group, who is especially grateful for his involvement and clarity in the explanations offered.

This visit offered future engineers a valuable practical experience, reinforcing the theoretical knowledge acquired in the classroom and bringing them closer to the real environment of the construction materials industry.
