Stanford University highlights 30 ETSi researchers among the most influential in the world
Stanford University has published its prestigious high-impact ranking: “ Ranking of the World Scientists: World's Top 2% Scientists ” , which includes the most influential researchers in the world, including 30 professors from the Higher Technical School of Engineering (ETSi) from the University of Seville.
It should be noted that at the level of subarea or field of research, four of the ETSi researchers occupy the first national position. The researchers José Luis Escalona in 'Design Practice & Management', Leopoldo García Franquelo in 'Electrical & Electronic Engineering', Alexandre Seuret in 'Industrial Engineering & Automation' and Sebastián Lozano in 'Operations Research' are leaders in Spain in their respective subareas. The latter is also among the best positioned researchers internationally, remaining in the international Top 100 in position 79 out of 29,481 researchers.
The ranking, which uses the SCOPUS database provided by Elsevier through ICSR Lab to evaluate researchers from around the world, classifies them into 22 scientific fields and 174 subfields.
The Stanford University study, which is published for the seventh time, selects the most notable scientists by their c-score (with and without self-citations) or by being in the 2% percentile or higher in their subfield 1. This database measures metrics with and without self-citations, as well as field- and subfield-specific percentiles for all researchers who have published at least 5 articles, more than 200,000 worldwide. The ranking analyzes the impact of the scientific production of researchers separately for a year and for their entire scientific career and is based on information provided by SCOPUS.
