The master's student, Elías Marqués, receives the REINTEL Award for the Best Master's Thesis in Telecommunications Engineering
Celebration of the COIT-AEIT Telecommunications Engineering Excellence Awards. 2023 Edition
On June 14, 2024, the COIT and the AEIT held the award ceremony for the Excellence in Telecommunications Engineering Awards in its forty-fourth call. The event recognized the outstanding achievements of students in various categories.
Esther Tapia, general director of COIT, welcomed the attendees, highlighting the importance of these awards in recognizing talent and effort in the field of telecommunications.
The student of the Master's Degree in Telecommunications Engineering, Elías Marqués Valderrama, received the REINTEL Award for the Best Master's Thesis in Telecommunications Engineering with social impact and improvement of sustainability, for his work “Predistortion of power amplifiers with distributed learning techniques ”, whose tutors have been professors Juan Antonio Becerra González and María José Madero Ayora.
Next, Francisco Javier Gabiola Ondarra, secretary of the COIT and the AEIT, provided the most relevant data about the call:
A total of 62 applications have been submitted, including doctoral theses (26), Master's Thesis (33) and Academic Tracks (18).
Of the 26 doctoral theses presented, 77% were written by men and 23% by women. Of the winners, 60% were men and 40% women.
Among the 33 Master's Thesis, 18% were carried out by women and 82% by men. Of the winners, 60% were men and 40% women.
Of the 18 candidates for the best Academic Career, 78% were from men and 22% from women.
In this edition there were a total of 168 evaluators who carried out 754 evaluations, who were recognized for their effort and dedication.
These awards not only recognize the talent and dedication of the winners, but also underline the importance of new generations in the telecommunications profession, promoting STEM vocations and supporting innovation and technological development.
The event had the valuable collaboration of various entities that made this celebration possible. Collaborators include: Teleco Renta and Ericsson, as well as Hisdesat, Hispasat, Isdefe, In-Nova, Huawei, the Royal Academy of Engineering and Reintel.
