An ETSi student wins an award at Zhejiang University
The 3rd year student of the Degree in Industrial Technology Engineering at the Higher Technical School of Engineering of the University of Seville, Gonzalo Jaime Coladas, has obtained a Merit Award for a work presented in the GripS Contest (Global Research Immersion Program for Young Scientists ) developed in China.
Grips is a program organized by four Chinese universities jointly: Zhejiang University, University of Science and Technology of China, Fudan University and Nanjing University, where participating students can choose from a wide variety of research projects offered by each of them. Centers.
Specifically, the project developed by Jaime Coladas consisted of the analysis and design of a self-powered sensor using a triboelectric nanogenerator (TENG) and an electricity generator based on water droplets (DEG), both based on a physical phenomenon called "the triboelectric". This work was supervised by professors from Zhejiang University (浙江大学), in the city of Hangzhou.
The Grips program is primarily focused on undergraduate students of all areas of knowledge, and its main objective is to bring closer the research process that develops in the four Chinese universities that promote it. Participating students must pass a demanding selection process in which they must provide their academic record, a letter of recommendation, as well as a motivation letter.
The contest lasts 8 weeks, in which in addition to the development of the project, the students have a program of visits to industries and companies in the host cities of the universities, as well as cultural activities and visits to museums. With the aim of facilitating the travel and stay of international students, the program offers scholarships of up to 3000 euros
