Internships in companies
As a student of the Double Master's Degree in Industrial Engineering and Chemical Engineering , you can complement your training with the optional subject "Internships in Companies".
This experience will allow you to take the first steps in your professional career, developing the skills that companies require today. Furthermore, you will have the opportunity to apply the knowledge acquired in your studies to real-world projects, working alongside both public and private organizations, at the national and international levels.
The management of the US internship programs is carried out through the Secretariat of Internships in Companies (SPEE) and from the Company Internship Department of the Etsi .
According to the “Regulations for External Academic Internships of the University of Seville”, approved by Agreement 10.1/CG 23-5-17, there are 2 types of internships:
Curricular Practices
Curricular internships are part of the degree/master's program as an elective course.
The number of hours required corresponds to the number of credits assigned to the "Work Placement" course. Each ECTS credit is equivalent to 25 hours of work, in both undergraduate and master's programs. More information about curricular internships.
- MII (This Master's program does not include MANDATORY internships.)
It is possible to complete 12 ECTS credits of internships in companies as an OPTIONAL course.
- MIQ The Master's in Chemical Engineering includes an Internship and Stay module worth 15 ECTS credits. This module facilitates student mobility, introduces them to research, and prepares them for entry into the professional world. It consists of the following options:
• Internships in companies or public institutions: up to 15 credits
• Stays in research laboratories of public bodies, universities, or companies: up to 15 credits
• Courses taken in mobility programs: up to 15 credits
• Supplement to the Master's Thesis completed in mobility programs: 15 credits
Can they be done at another Spanish university or abroad?
No.
Extracurricular activities
The University of Seville (US) offers its students and graduates the opportunity to complement their academic training and gain professional experience through internships in companies and institutions. External internships are available. These internships can be undertaken with companies collaborating with the master's program, universities, or research centers.
These internships, which are not part of the curriculum, are professional immersion experiences in companies or institutions designed to provide:
- A closer understanding of the work environment.
- The development of professional skills and attitudes.
- The acquisition of habits, practices, and values specific to the world of work.
They constitute an important complement to academic training, providing valuable experience to facilitate future employment.
