Official Statement to the University Community of the ETSi: resumption of activity on Thursday, February 5
In light of the evolving weather situation and following the instructions of the competent authorities, the University of Seville informs that teaching and academic activity will resume normally at its centers and campuses tomorrow, Thursday, February 5, 2026.
Exceptionally, the Higher Technical School of Agricultural Engineering will remain closed tomorrow due to a possible risk of the Guadaíra River overflowing.
However, as a protective and precautionary measure, and in order to minimize risks, activities involving stays or development outdoors are suspended until further notice.
Exceptionally, if any member of the university community is unable to attend a mandatory academic activity (including assessments) due to weather conditions, such as serious disruptions to public transportation, traffic restrictions, or road closures, this absence will be considered a case of force majeure. In these cases, the activity or assessment must be rescheduled for a new date, according to the terms determined by the relevant academic authority.
The University of Seville also reiterates its explicit appeal for prudence and responsibility from the entire university community. It is recommended to exercise extreme caution when traveling and to plan journeys in accordance with official recommendations.
The University of Seville will remain in contact with the authorities to assess the evolution of the situation and will keep the university community informed through its official channels, as well as updates from AEMET and Civil Protection.
We appreciate the understanding and cooperation of the entire university community. We also extend our sincere gratitude to all the departments, the reception staff, the maintenance service, and the external companies for their collaboration and for following the guidelines outlined in previous communications, thus helping to ensure the safety and proper functioning of essential services.
