ARUS Andalucía Racing Team, the Formula Student team from the University of Seville, and the Seville Provincial Council have strengthened their collaboration to support the innovation, sustainability, and training project being developed by the university team. The agreement was presented this Friday, October 9, during an official event held at the Seville Provincial Council.

Thanks to this collaboration, the team's latest model, the ART-27D, will go beyond the circuits where it usually competes, visiting various municipalities throughout the province. This will be done in partnership with the Seville Provincial Council, which is incorporating this project into its commitment to connecting young people in Seville with role models in innovation and technology, showcasing the training and professional development opportunities available in their own community, and demonstrating, through a real-world project, new solutions applied to mobility.

The collaboration includes a contribution of €30,000 from the Provincial Council, through its Department of Intermunicipal Public Services, intended to support the team's activities. It also incorporates an outreach component that will allow the project to be extended to four municipalities in the province: El Viso del Alcor, El Palmar de Troya, Pedrera, and Olivares.

In these towns, the members of ARUS will showcase their work and share with students the experience behind the single-seater race car, from design and manufacturing to the incorporation of technologies related to electrification, electronics, automation, and energy efficiency. The activities will take place at the schools in these municipalities, with dates to be confirmed between December 2026 and the first quarter of 2027.

The support of the provincial institution will allow ARUS to continue advancing in a highly demanding technological project that offers students from different degree programs at the University of Seville the opportunity to apply their knowledge in a real-world engineering environment. Throughout the academic year, the students work in a multidisciplinary manner on the design, manufacturing, validation, and competition of Formula Student single-seaters.

The collaboration comes at a particularly ambitious time for the team, which, in addition to developing its new electric car, is working on its first hydrogen-powered car. This line of work aims to advance technologies related to sustainable mobility and help position Seville and the University of Seville within the international Formula Student scene.

ARUS is entering the 2026/27 season with over one hundred students from various degree programs at the University of Seville. The project's growth in recent years has also been reflected in the recruitment of new members, which this year has seen a record of over 200 applications.

Following the results achieved last season, one of the main sporting objectives for this new year is to move towards the top positions in the main Formula Student competitions. To this end, the team has prioritized improving the reliability of the cars, increasing testing and validation mileage, and developing vehicles capable of completing dynamic competition tests.

In parallel, ARUS will continue working on the development of new technologies and on consolidating its hydrogen project, one of the team's main lines of innovation for this season.

Applied engineering and multidisciplinary training

ARUS Andalucía Racing Team is the Formula Student team of the University of Seville and brings together each season students from different degree programs who work in a multidisciplinary way in the design, manufacture, management and competition of single-seaters.

Beyond the competition, the project provides its members with practical experience in engineering, project management, and teamwork, connecting university education with the needs and challenges of industry.
Over the past few seasons, ARUS has achieved outstanding results in national and international competitions. At Formula Student Spain 2026, the team earned podium finishes in the Cost and Business events, as part of a journey that combines technological development, training, and competition.

The support of the Seville Provincial Council represents a new boost for the evolution of ARUS, a project that integrates university training, technological innovation, sustainability and competition, and which continues to take the name of the University of Seville, Seville and Andalusia to national and international competitions.
