Tsinghua University appoints Professor Antonio Gómez Expósito as Distinguished Visiting Professor

Antonio Gómez Expósito, Professor of Electrical Engineering at the University of Seville, has been appointed Distinguished Visiting Professor at Tsinghua University (Beijing) . The recognition ceremony took place at the headquarters of the university's Department of Electrical Engineering.

Professor Gómez Expósito, who teaches at the Higher Technical School of Engineering of the University of Seville, where he also directs the Endesa Chair, was named at the same event a Distinguished Visiting Fellow of the Energy Internet Research Institute.

Following an initial address by Professor Kai Sun, in which he recounted part of Professor Gómez Expósito's professional and academic career, the latter delivered a speech of thanks and lectured on the topic 'Applied Maths and Power Systems: 125 years of symbiosis'. Afterwards, Professor Chongqing Kang, Director of the Department of Electrical Engineering at Tsinghua University, presented him with the certificates confirming both appointments.

Tsinghua University, considered the most prestigious in China, ranks twelfth in the Times Higher Education World University Ranking 2025 and is first in Asia in the Shanghai Ranking.

These appointments recognize, among other work, Professor Gómez Expósito's extensive collaboration with various Chinese institutions and researchers, including his work as Vice Editor-in-Chief of the journal 'Modern Power Systems and Clean Energy' and the editing of several monographs together with Professor Yusheng Xue, of the Chinese Academy of Engineering.
