More than 2,200 students participate in a new edition of the Pre-University Days of the ETSI of the University of Seville

The Higher Technical School of Engineering (ETSi) of the University of Seville is holding another edition of its Pre-University Days from February 2nd until Friday, February 6th. A call for applications  which highlights the remarkable increase in participation, with more than 2,200 high school students confirmed, coming from 85 institutes in Andalusiamainly from Seville and its province.

The high demand has forced the center's management to extend the visit schedule by one day, as well as increase the number of laboratories and groups in which students are distributed, in order to guarantee a close and personalized knowledge of the Higher Technical School of Engineering, its academic offer and the set of services it provides.

As in previous years, the groups are welcomed in the Auditorium by the School's management team, where they are introduced to the ETSi, its degrees, internship opportunities, mobility programs, career paths, and main lines of research. Afterwards, accompanied by student guides, they tour the facilities of the main building and from workshop and laboratory buildingWith particular attention to the research laboratories, where a team of professors conduct practical demonstrations of techniques and knowledge taught in various degree courses. Visitors can also exchange views with members of the center's student associations about engineering studies and university life.

In last year's edition, the Pre-University Days included the participation of more than 1,800 students second year of Baccalaureate and Higher Level Vocational Training Cycles with access to Engineering studies, coming from further of 70 Secondary Education centersThe increased participation recorded in this call consolidates these conferences as one of the main academic dissemination actions of the ETSi.

The organization of these conferences is part of the initiative of the ETSi Management aimed at offering a real and practical approach to Engineering degrees and the research developed at the center to pre-university students, at a key moment for making decisions about their academic and professional future.

The ETSI in figures

The Higher Technical School of Engineering is the largest center of the University of Seville. Its academic offerings include eight Bachelor's degrees11 Master's Degreesa Double Master and four Doctoral Programswhich welcome approximately 1,500 newly enrolled students. The ETSi academic community exceeds 6,000 students, with more than 500 professors and researchersand an annual number of graduates exceeding 700 graduates.

The ETSI promotes these types of activities to raise awareness of studies that lead to the practice of the engineering profession, currently characterized by one of the lowest, or practically zero, unemployment rates, both nationally and internationally. According to a study by Spanish Engineering ObservatoryIn the next ten years, the incorporation of over 200,000 new engineers in Spain to meet the needs of the country's business and economic development.
