Tribute to Emilio Gómez González

The Department of Applied Physics III of the Higher Technical School of Engineering, ETSi, is organizing a tribute to Emilio Gómez González, their beloved and much-missed colleague

In memory of and out of respect for Professor Emilio Gómez González, who passed away in January 2023 , the Department of Applied Physics III is organizing the event "What is light for? A tribute to Emilio Gómez González. A journey through his life and work," which will be held in the Auditorium of the ETSi on May 29, 2023, starting at 6:00 p.m.

The event will be presided over by authorities from the University of Seville and the Higher Technical School of Engineering of Seville, and will include the participation of María Isabel Gómez González, Emilio's sister, who will share memories of his student days and the family's perspective; Consuelo Bellver Cebreros , professor and co-director of his doctoral thesis; Antonio González Fernández , director of the Department of Applied Physics III at the University of Seville and Emilio's colleague; Javier Márquez Rivas , neurosurgeon and collaborator of Emilio; and Emilia Gómez Gutiérrez , a researcher and recipient of the City of Seville Medal, as a former student and recent collaborator.

All those who wish to pay tribute to and fondly remember the esteemed Emilio Gómez González (may he rest in peace) are welcome to attend.
