Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering (GIC)
Presentation and guide of the degree on the website of the University of Seville.
The Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering is the first stage in the training of professionals in Civil Engineering (Academic Program with Successive Courses in Civil Engineering: PARS in Civil Engineering ). This PARS trains highly respected professionals who will ensure the proper development of civil works and infrastructure, primarily focusing on the calculation, design, construction, and operation of works, infrastructure, and constructions such as structures, bridges, tunnels, dams, roads, railway infrastructure, ports, coastal infrastructure, reservoirs, canals, watershed management, transport network design, land management, etc.
The four-year Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering leads to a qualification that enables graduates to practice professionally. The competencies of Civil Engineering graduates are those legally attributed to Technical Engineers of Public Works (although this degree is no longer included in the catalog of qualifications of the Spanish university system) in the specializations of Civil Construction, Hydrology, and Transportation and Urban Services.
The natural and advisable continuation is the Master's Degree in Civil Engineering, Canals and Ports, as it leads to the title of Civil Engineer and, therefore, to obtaining all the professional skills assigned to them by Spanish legislation.
This degree program trains highly respected professionals who will ensure the proper development of civil works and infrastructure. Graduates will primarily work in the calculation, design, construction, and operation of works, infrastructure, and constructions such as structures, bridges, tunnels, dams, roads, railway infrastructure, ports, coastal infrastructure, reservoirs, canals, river basin management, transport network design, land management, etc., always within their areas of expertise.
The program is organized into four years: the first and second years cover basic subjects (Mathematics, Physics, Statistics, Mathematics, Drafting, Chemistry, Computer Science, etc.) and pre-technological subjects (Geology, Numerical Methods, Elasticity, Construction Materials, Hydraulics, Surveying, Urban Planning, etc.) . The third and fourth years focus on technological subjects and students acquire their specialization.
The Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering at the University of Seville holds the EUR-ACE European quality label for engineering, which certifies that it meets the highest professional standards in engineering.
Students enrolled in this degree program must demonstrate, before requesting the issuance of the degree, that they have obtained a level of linguistic competence in English equivalent to level B1 of the CEFR (Common European Framework of Reference for Languages).
