The University of Seville and Ghenova create the new Ghenova Chair of Integrated Projects

Ghenova Engineering and the University of Seville create the 'Ghenova Chair of Integrated Projects' to promote collaboration between university and business.

This initiative is carried out in collaboration with the Department of Construction Engineering and Engineering Projects of the Higher Technical School of Engineering (ETSi) of the University of Seville and is intended to strengthen the connection between university and company in the field of engineering.

The Chair will promote the development of high-quality academic work linked to various technical disciplines, technologies and methodologies applied to engineering projects in areas such as industry, energy, infrastructure, the integrated water cycle and ports, promoting the active participation of students and professors.

The main activities of the Chair will be:

  • The provision of paid curricular and extracurricular internships, as well as the awarding of scholarships for the completion of Final Degree Projects (TFE) and doctoral programs, including prizes for the best TFEs.

  • The joint development of promotional, outreach, training, study and research activities, within the framework of specific programs linked to the scope of application of the Chair.

  • The organization of forums and meetings that promote the exchange of knowledge between academics, professionals from the business sector, students and other people or entities related to the areas of work of the Chair.

The chair's governing committee will include representatives from both the company and the university. Ghenova Ingeniería will be represented by Antonio Coronel Toro, Director of R&D&I, and Lourdes García Sanz, Director of Ghenova Energy & Water. The University of Seville will be represented by José Ángel González Pérez, Professor, who will serve as Chair Director, and José Manuel Galán Fernández, Associate Professor, who will act as committee secretary. The committee will be chaired by the Vice-Rector Ángel Luis Trigo García, from the Innovation, Knowledge Transfer and Entrepreneurship department of the University of Seville.

For Ghenova, these types of initiatives serve to "promote knowledge transfer and talent development," as well as "train engineers with a more practical and project-oriented approach." In fact, the company holds two additional professorships at the Polytechnic University of Madrid (UPM) and the University of A Coruña (UDC).
