The ETSI and the College of Civil Engineers strengthen their collaboration to promote vocations and bring the profession closer to students

The Higher Technical School of Engineering of the University of Seville has formalized a new collaboration agreement with the Andalusia, Ceuta and Melilla Demarcation of the College of Civil Engineers, Canals and Ports with the aim of strengthening the promotion of Civil Engineering and bringing closer the connection between the academic field and professional practice.

The agreement was signed on February 24th by the dean of the regional college, Juan Manuel Medina Torres, and the director of the ETSI (School of Engineering), Andrés Sáez Pérez. The agreement establishes cooperation in the organization and development of initiatives aimed at both university and pre-university students, including the Agustín de Betancourt Bridge Competition, for undergraduate and master's students, and the National Engineering Olympiad, designed to inspire scientific and technical vocations among young people in Andalusian secondary schools.

The collaboration between the two institutions is sustained and strategic, based on fluid communication and a consolidated institutional understanding. Both share the goal of strengthening the appeal of the degree program and ensuring the development of a pool of highly qualified professionals, in a context of high demand from the civil engineering sector.

Within the framework of these activities, representatives of the College actively participate in meetings with students to publicize the services offered by the professional corporation, the coverage associated with the insurance policies subscribed and the mandatory membership for the practice of the profession, thus contributing to facilitating the transition to the labor market.

During the signing of the agreement, the dean and the director also addressed the main demands of the students and analyzed new lines of collaboration aimed at strengthening employability, professional projection and early talent acquisition, consolidating a cooperation model that favors alignment between university education and the needs of the socio-economic environment.
