The year 2025 marks the tenth anniversary of the International Day of Women and Girls in Science, as well as the thirtieth anniversary of the Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action, two key milestones in the global struggle for gender equality and women's empowerment.

Gender equality in science is fundamental to building a fairer and more equitable future for everyone. However, women and girls still face structural obstacles and biases when trying to access and advance in scientific careers.

Overcoming the gender gap in science requires challenging existing stereotypes, promoting role models that motivate girls, supporting women's progress through specific initiatives, and creating inclusive environments through policies that foster diversity, equity, and inclusion.
