A US researcher among the founders of SERIM
Researcher Miguel Larrañeta Gómez-Caminero, attached to the University of Seville and hired by the Ministry of Science, Innovation and Universities through a Ramón y Cajal contract, is part of the group of founding partners of the newly created Spanish Society of Renewable Energy Resources and Meteorological Intelligence (SERIM).
SERIM positions itself as a cutting-edge, interdisciplinary platform, bringing together experts in physics, engineering, data science, and professionals committed to sustainability and innovation. Its main mission is to enhance the knowledge and practical application of renewable energy resources, integrating meteorological intelligence into decision-making processes.
Among SERIM's key objectives are advanced research into natural resources for renewable energy production; the development of state-of-the-art meteorological data analysis; offering specialized training programs, including courses and technical certifications; organizing regular scientific meetings for knowledge exchange; and providing advisory and technical auditing services to companies and public bodies in the renewable energy and applied meteorology sectors.
The participation of Miguel Larrañeta as a founding member underscores the importance of collaboration between the University of Seville and industry in advancing sustainable technologies. His experience in the Energy Engineering Department of the Higher Technical School of Engineering at the University of Seville brings a valuable research and training component to SERIM's mission.
