Gathering at the ETSi for International Women's Day, a tribute to all the women who make up our School

Publication date

Today, March 8th, International Women's Day, we gathered at the main entrance of the School to take this photo. It's a tribute to all the women who are part of the ETSi: management, faculty, students, and administrative and service staff, so that with each passing year we may move closer to true equality between women and men.

For an inclusive digital world: Innovation and technology for gender equality

This year, the UN is advocating for equality under the theme “For an inclusive digital world: Innovation and technology for gender equality.” The role of universities in this regard must be key, both in digital technological development and in ensuring that there are no gender biases in the use and design of big data tools or artificial intelligence. We cannot allow these innovative and important tools for the development of humanity to become spaces where gender stereotypes and roles are confirmed and perpetuated.

Undoubtedly, much has been achieved, but much remains to be done. At the ETSi, as an educational institution, it is our duty to persevere in the task of building a more just and equitable world through higher education and lifelong learning. On this #8M, we cannot forget all the girls and women whose right to education is curtailed, and especially, at this time, the Afghan and Iranian girls.

Therefore, our commitment is absolute; once again, March 8th is an opportunity to strengthen gender equality policies at the Higher Technical School of Engineering of Seville.
