The purpose of the call for the INERCO Award is to recognize the best Final Degree/Master's Thesis on a topic that addresses the study of the following areas: Environmental Risks (anthropogenic or natural), Industrial Safety, Sustainable Industrial Development, or related technologies.

The prize will have a financial prize of 2,000 and 1,000 euros, respectively for the 1st and 2nd prize.

The application submission period will be open from September 1, 2022 to December 20, 2022 at 2:00 p.m.

All documentation will be delivered to the Secretariat of the Department of Chemical and Environmental Engineering of the Higher Technical School of Engineering of Seville.

Rules for the call for the INERCO Award

 

INERCO Scholarship Endowment

The prize will have a financial prize of 2,000 and 1,000 euros, respectively for the 1st and 2nd prize. This amount will be paid in a single payment once the requirements established for its granting in this call have been met and will be delivered at a public event to be held at the Higher Technical School of Engineering of the University of Seville. The corresponding withholding of Personal Income Tax will be made in the payment, as appropriate.

Beneficiaries

People whose Final Degree/Master's Thesis conforms to the object described in point 1 of these rules, who have been defended and judged by a Court of the Higher Technical School of Engineering of the University of Seville within the corresponding academic year, and whose minimum grade has been “Outstanding”.

Applications and documentation to provide

  • Interested parties will sign the application according to the model that appears in Annex I of this call.
  •  Interested parties must submit, in addition to the application, the following documentation:
    •  Photocopy of the National Identity Document.
    • Two complete copies of the Final Degree/Master's Thesis (one in electronic format and the other in paper).
    • Summary of the Final Degree/Master's Project, with a maximum length of five pages, in which the following concepts must be included: purpose of the Project, results obtained and interest in the topic covered.
    •  Certificate of having received the rating of “Outstanding” or higher.

Submission deadline

The application submission period will be open from September 1, 2022 to December 20, 2022 at 2:00 p.m.

All documentation will be delivered, exclusively by hand, by courier or by certified mail, to the Secretariat of the Department of Chemical and Environmental Engineering of the Higher Technical School of Engineering of Seville, C/Camino de los Descubrimientos s/n, 41092 Seville. Those Final Degree/Master's Projects that arrive after said date will be excluded.

Nature of the prize and obligations of the winner

The award of the prize will be subject to the following provisions:

  • The submission of a Work to the INERCO Award implies the acceptance by its author of the Rules of the call, in particular the transfer of the intellectual property rights thereof to the company INERCO SA in the event of being awarded.
  •  Failure by the beneficiary to comply with the obligations indicated in this call may lead to the withdrawal of the Prize, with the corresponding refund of the amounts received.

Evaluation of applications

  • The review of applications will be carried out competitively and, to this end, only the documentation provided will be considered.
  •  The applications will be evaluated by the Governing Committee of the INERCO Chair made up of two professors from the Higher Technical School of Engineering of Seville (one of whom must be the Academic Coordinator of the Chair), two representatives of INERCO, and the Director of the Chair. One of the teachers will act as Secretary.
  • The Evaluation Commission will send the Award resolution to the Management of the Higher Technical School of Engineering of the University of Seville. This resolution must include the following documentation:
    •  Minutes of the Evaluation Commission meeting.
    • Report from the INERCO Chair that endorses the awarding of the Prize.
    • List of candidates, in order of priority, presented for the Award.
    • The Evaluation Commission may declare the Award void and will resolve any incidents that arise.

Evaluation Commission ruling

The ruling of the Evaluation Commission will be final and will be made public on the website and on the boards of the Higher Technical School of Engineers of Seville before December 30, 2022.

Final Degree Projects not awarded

Non-awarded works may be withdrawn by interested parties at the Secretariat of the Department of Chemical and Environmental Engineering of the Higher Technical School of Engineering of Seville, C/Camino de los Descubrimientos s/n, 41092 Seville, within a period of three months from the resolution of the award.

Qualification

Both the Director and the Academic Coordinator of the INERCO Chair, in addition to the powers conferred upon them, are empowered to resolve any incidents that may arise, as well as any actions necessary in the execution of this call.
