The Higher Technical School of Engineering of the University of Seville, ETSi, held on March 20 the 21st Edition of the Meeting on Engineering and Employment (ESIEM) 2024 , an annual event held since 2003 with the aim of provoking a first rapprochement between the students and companies and institutions from the different fields of engineering.

This meeting, which is held in a science and innovation environment such as the Cartuja Science and Technology Park, offers an exceptional setting for companies to meet first-hand future engineers who meet the professional profiles they demand, as well as for the students. , which makes their first contact with the world of work that awaits them on a not-too-distant horizon.

In this edition, ESIEM has had the presence of more than 70 companies from the industrial field, as well as institutions that also require the incorporation of engineers to their staff . Throughout its history, it has been incorporating new qualifications, currently having 8 Bachelor's degrees (Degree in Industrial Technology Engineering, in Telecommunications Technology Engineering, in Aerospace Engineering, in Civil Engineering, in Chemical Engineering, in Industrial Organization Engineering, in Energy Engineering and in Electronic, Robotics and Mechatronics Engineering) as well as 11 university master's degrees . More than 6,000 students are currently studying one of the degrees, masters or doctoral programs taught at the ETSi .

According to data provided by the Engineering Observatory, in the next 10 years, the Spanish economy must ensure access to at least 200,000 new engineers.

This Meeting on Engineering and Employment represents an exceptional framework in which companies from the different fields of engineering agree to establish a first relationship with students who in the near future will be the professionals demanded by the market, and, at the same time, it represents for said young people's first contact with the world of work.
