The ETSi celebrates the 1st Edition of the Bridge Competition
The Higher Technical School of Engineering of the University of Seville 1st Bridge Competition on March 22nd , an activity aimed at students of the Civil Engineering Degree and the Master of Civil Engineering, Canals and Ports in which they have to design and build a bridge and subject it to a load test.

The assembly phase takes place over the two days prior to the competition and is held in the Structures Laboratory of the ETSI (School of Engineering). The competition involves the design and construction of a bridge, with all teams using the same equipment. After these initial steps, the structure is subjected to a load test until it fails.
The winning team of this edition was made up of students Tomás de la Hera de Oya, Iñaki Ugarte Márquez, Mª Antonia Gutiérrez Alvear and Luis Ramos Justo, designers of a bridge whose structure fractured when subjected to a 547 kilogram load test.
They will be in charge of representing the Higher Technical School of Engineering of the University of Seville in the National Phase of the Bridge Competition, which will be organized by the University of Cantabria and will take place on April 20 in Santander.
