I Iberian Meeting of Young Engineers

The Professional Union of Colleges of Engineers, UPCI, and the Order of Engineers of Portugal will organize the 1st Iberian Meeting of Young Engineers on October 26 and 27 at the Higher Technical School of Engineering of the University of Seville

The event will bring together almost a thousand junior or senior engineers from the specialties of Civil, Industrial, Naval, Aeronautical, Telecommunications, Forestry, Mines, ICAI or Agronomists of the Iberian Peninsula.

For two days, attendees will attend keynote conferences on Artificial Intelligence, Circular Economy, Industry 4.0, team competitions, and visits to companies in Seville and surrounding areas, such as Renault or Heineken, or to the Advanced Center for Aerospace Technology.

Engineering, qualifying master's level training and the role of professional associations will be valued. In Spain there are 700,000 Master's level engineers who represent a profession with an employability rate above 98%.

Although Spanish engineers have great prestige, Master's training will be able to increase the capacity of engineering companies and the development of ecological and digital transition projects.

In addition, the salaries of the profession will be addressed, with salaries 30% higher than the country's average, although stagnation has been detected in recent decades.

The Congress will allow attendees to contact other engineering colleagues from both Spain and Portugal and will be an opportunity for companies and consultancies, who will be able to see future engineers from Spain and Portugal for two days.
