From March 6 to 17, 2023, in the School Hall, a visit to the traveling exhibition The heritage of the FF.CC miners of Cala and Aznalcóllar.
The heritage of the FF.CC. miners of Cala and Aznalcóllar remember the legacy of the infrastructure that was developed in the shadow of the mining industry
This exhibition invites the viewer to look into the historical memory of these infrastructures that were developed in the shadow of the mining industry , a fundamental economic activity for Andalusia in the first half of the 20th century, where entire families would go to the construction of the railway lines. from Minas de Cala and Aznalcóllar to San Juan de Aznalfarache.
Important dissemination project organized by the Industrial Heritage Foundation of Andalusia with the collaboration of the Institute of Culture and the Arts of Seville (ICAS) , the Official College of Mining Engineers of the South and the Sevillian delegation of the Official College of Industrial Engineers of Andalusia.
The exhibition tour advances through the before and after of the Cala and Mina Caridad Mines, ending with the proposal of a new use for these old railway routes and their reconversion into greenways: a project that was born two years ago together with Asedeca Sevillian Public Roads , A Contramano Seville Cyclist Assembly and Ecologists following the destruction of the old La Rigüela station, the greatest exponent in Seville of this railway heritage.
The exhibition 'The heritage of the FF.CC. miners of Cala and Aznalcóllar' has two associated events:
- Opening talk: On Tuesday, March 7 at 7:00 p.m. in the School's Graduate Hall.
- Technical talk about the Cala Railway by Professor Antonio Martínez de la Concha, on Tuesday, March 14 at 7:00 p.m. in the School's Graduate Hall.
