To celebrate Women's Day, the Official College of Telecommunications Engineers of Western Andalusia and Ceuta COITAOC organizes the Professional Conference 'Woman Telecommunications Engineer', an initiative that aims to highlight women within the ICT sector and the development of the profession and in promoting the STEM vocation of future generations.
The event, which will take place on March 8, starting at 12:00, in the Hall of Degrees of the Higher Technical School of Engineering (ETSI) of the University of Seville, will feature Magdalena Salazar Palma, Inmaculada Sánchez Ramos , Dulce Muñoz del Rey and Loreto del Valle Cebada, four women who have stood out for their professional career, their leadership and representation in the ICT sector in general and in Telecommunications in particular.
Marta Balenciaga, Dean-President of the COIT, who will inaugurate the day, and María Eugenia Sánchez, Vice-Secretary of the COITAOC, who will be in charge of moderating the round table in which they will debate, among other topics, will also participate alongside them. the role of women in technological development and innovation, the challenge they face in a sector with a predominant presence of men, the gender gap in the ICT sector or the need to promote the technological vocation in the female group.

The four participating Telecommunications Engineers have in common the recognition of their professional careers and their commitment to the inclusion of women in positions of responsibility within the technological field.
Magdalena Salazar Palma
Doctor in Telecommunications Engineering from the Polytechnic University of Madrid (UPM); Professor (Currently Emerita) of the TSC Department (Signal Theory and Communications) of the Carlos III University (UC3M); Doctor Honoris Causa from Aalto University (former Helsinki University of Technology); Director of the TSC Department, UC3M (2007-2010); Co-head of the Radiofrequency, Electromagnetism, Microwaves and Antennas Research Group (GREMA), TSC Department, UC3M; And Founding Member of the University Institute of Gender Studies of the UC3M. Author or co-author of a total of 752 publications, she has participated as a researcher in a total of 97 research projects and contracts funded by public institutions and Spanish, European and United States companies. Recipient of several recognitions, she was the 2022 Pioneras_IT Award presented by the COIT.
Inmaculada Sánchez Ramos
Telecommunications Engineer from the Polytechnic University of Madrid, she is an optician-optometrist from the Complutense University and a doctor in Legal and Social Sciences from the Rey Juan Carlos University, where she is currently a professor. She has a degree in the Women Joining Boards program from the Woman Forward Foundation and has completed different General Management and Management Development programs at the IESE Business School. In April 2013 she was appointed Deputy Director General of Technologies, being responsible for Communications and Government and Management and exploitation of the Information Systems, Communications and IT Infrastructures of the Community of Madrid Administration. She is currently director of Advanced Digital Skills and Competencies at Madrid Digital. She was recognized with the COIT Pioneras_IT 2022 Award. Inmaculada has a profile with a great capacity to adapt to new technical and professional approaches in a society so marked by technology.
Dulce Muñoz de Rey
Higher Telecommunications Engineer from the Seville School of Engineers. In addition to developing research work at the University in 2021, he complements his training with 4 foreign languages, an Entrepreneurship Program at the IESE Business School (University of Navarra) in 2012, a Development Program for Senior Management at the School of EOI Industrial Organization in Madrid in 2015 and was certified in Project Management by the American Project Management Institute in 2019. After a few years in the energy consulting sector with Accenture, in 2004 he joined Airbus, where he has developed his professional career passing for different positions in Manufacturing Engineering, Production Headquarters and Program Management, in an international professional career developed in Seville, Toulouse and Munich. She is currently Vice President, Head of Development at Airbus. She leads several networks that promote diversity, such as the Women Network, and in 2019 she presented the association “Ellas Vuelan Alto” in the Parliament of Andalusia. She was awarded the 2021 Andalusian Telecommunications Award granted by COITAOC for Professional Career.
Loreto del Valle Cebada
Telecommunications Engineer from the University of Seville. She began her professional career in the private sector, until, in 2002, she joined the public sector as a career civil servant in the Junta de Andalucía, where she has held different management positions. Thus, in 2019 she became the General Directorate of Digital Economy and Innovation, expanding her responsibilities to other areas such as technology-based entrepreneurship, the deployment of telecommunications infrastructure in the Andalusian territory or the cybersecurity policy of the Board of Andalusia. In 2022 she will join the Andalusian Digital Agency, where she currently holds the position of Deputy Director of Digital Society, leading strategic projects such as the Andalusian Digital Training Plan. Furthermore, together with private and public entities, universities and various movements, she promoted the womANDigital program to make visible, increase and encourage the role of women in the ICT Sector. Among the different awards received, she was awarded the Andalusian Telecommunications Award in the 'Engineer of the Year' category in 2019 and the TOP10 award from Pyrsel Consulting.
