ARCyTAN 2023-2024: Leaders in Artificial Intelligence Projects discuss the present and future of AI

 

ARCyTAN project (High Performance in Science and Technology in Andalusia) has been working since 2015 with high school students from all over Andalusia, who come on some Friday afternoons to the Higher Technical School of Engineering (ETSi) of the University of Seville (US) to receive talks, pre-university guidance, as well as to participate in workshops and technological visits.

In 2023, ARCyTAN's activities will conclude on the afternoon of Tuesday, December 12 , with a Science and Technology Olympiad in which new students are selected, a visit to the ETSi laboratories, and a round table discussion in the auditorium of this university center on the present and future of Artificial Intelligence .

The round table will begin at 7:00 p.m. It will be moderated by Emilio Carrizosa (professor and president of the Spanish Network of Mathematics-Industry, math-in) and will feature prestigious professors and professionals: Teodoro Álamo , Professor and leader of Data Science projects; Héctor García (entrepreneur, consultant, and founder of Geographica, now at Carto G. Information Systems), Yolanda Torres (medical director of the San Juan de Dios Hospital of Aljarafe) and Alicia Troncoso (professor and president of the Spanish Association for Artificial Intelligence, AEPIA).

In previous editions, the ARCyTAN closing roundtable has addressed such relevant topics as Space, Energy and Climate Change, the Robotics of the Future, Entrepreneurship in Engineering, and Quantum Supercomputing. This year, it will tackle a highly topical issue: Artificial Intelligence , with all its risks and benefits.
