Workshop on Occupational Risk Prevention in the Cement Sector

FLACEMA and the Higher Technical School of Engineering of Seville (ETSI) held a Conference on Occupational Risk Prevention in the Cement Sector in the ETSI's Graduation Hall, which was attended by 100 students from the different Bachelor's and Master's degrees taught at the School.

Under the slogan 'Occupational Risk Prevention in the Cement Sector', this day brought together leading experts and professionals from the cement sector to provide engineering students with a valuable insight into the challenges and safety and health practices in this important industrial sector.

The opening ceremony was attended by José Manuel Rodríguez Saucedo, general secretary of UGT-FICA of Andalusia and Vice President of FLACEMA, Ricardo López, managing director of AFCA, Manuel Parejo, general director of FLACEMA and Fernando Vidal, professor of the Department of Chemical and Environmental Engineering and director of the Chair of Occupational Risk Prevention at the University of Seville.

Following this, an engaging round table discussion entitled 'Safety and Health in the Cement Sector' took place, featuring two industry experts. Carlos Alonso, Director of Safety, Occupational Health and Corporate Social Responsibility at Cementos Portland Valderrivas, addressed the topic of preventative culture and the various prevention management systems implemented at Cementos Portland Valderrivas' factories.

Finally, Andrés Núñez, head of Safety at the Alconera (Badajoz) factory of Votorantim Cimentos España, offered an analysis from a safety point of view of the most representative tasks in a cement factory.
