Sevilla TechPark launches a new study on employee mobility, which will help companies comply with the Sustainable Mobility Law
Sevilla TechPark, within the framework of eCitySevilla, has launched the second edition of the study to understand the mobility of the technology park's workers, as well as the needs identified by the entities based in the park.
Companies and research centers participating in the project will receive a report detailing their current mobility situation, including anonymous responses from their employees. This report could serve as the basis for an initial assessment to develop a Sustainable Mobility Plan. Creating this Sustainable Mobility Plan will be mandatory for many companies following the recent approval of the new Sustainable Mobility Law.
Therefore, we request the collaboration of companies and workers (in their personal capacity) to complete the following questionnaires:
Form for organizations (response time 2-4 minutes): Each organization is asked to complete one form to gather information on policies implemented to promote sustainable mobility (charging points, bicycle parking facilities, teleworking, public transport passes, etc.). New this year is a brief additional questionnaire for organizations that own a building in the park, to collect information on the use of renewable energy and energy efficiency measures.
Form for employees (response time 2 minutes): Each organization is asked to distribute this form to its employees. It will anonymously collect information on each employee's mobility habits and preferences.
Both forms will be available for completion until July 31, 2026. Extended until September 30, 2026!
Emissions assessment and carbon footprint calculation
The collected and anonymized data will also be used to assess indirect CO2 emissions and calculate the park's carbon footprint, thanks to the collaboration of the Electrical Power Systems Research Group at the Higher Technical School of Engineering of the University of Seville, led by Dr. Ángel Arcos Vargas. This will allow us to see how this important parameter has changed in recent years.
Mobility is one of the four main areas of focus in eCitySevilla, whose working group is coordinated by the Seville City Council. Within the framework of this working group, a report on mobility in Seville TechPark was prepared five years ago by IntelQualia. This report provided a diagnosis of the mobility situation in the Park and was supplemented by the Mobility Survey conducted in 2024 (among both companies and employees, as well as students).
The second edition of the survey in 2026 will allow for a deeper understanding of the mobility situation in Sevilla TechPark and an evaluation of the impact of the actions and measures implemented to advance the fulfillment of eCitySevilla's objectives in terms of mobility, as well as the design of new ones to be implemented in the coming years.
