The mentoring program, developed in collaboration with the Royal Academy of Engineering and ten companies in the sector, achieves high levels of satisfaction among mentors and participating students

The Higher Technical School of Engineering (ETSi) of the University of Seville hosted the closing ceremony of the Third edition of the Women and Engineering Program Seville, a mentoring initiative promoted within the framework of the program Women and Engineering of the Royal Academy of Engineering, whose objective is to promote female talent in STEM disciplines and to foster the professional development of future female engineers.

During this edition, a total of 21 students from the University of Seville, enrolled in the degrees and master's programs of Industrial Technologies, Telecommunications Engineering, Energy Engineering, Industrial Organization, Environmental Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Civil Engineering, Electronics, Robotics and Mechatronics and Civil Engineering, have participated in a personalized mentoring process together with 20 reference professionals, forming as many mentor-mentee pairs.

The program has benefited from the collaboration of ten companies closely linked to the engineering and technology sectors: Ingelectus, Indra, Ghenova, e-distribución, Serveo, Emasesa, Hitachi Energy, Grupo Cox, Schneider Electric, and Airbus. Through this collaboration, participants have gained firsthand knowledge of the business environment, developed transferable skills, and received personalized guidance to better prepare for entering the job market.

The results of the evaluation surveys that the program itself carries out after the months of implementation reflect the positive impact of the initiative, both in the satisfaction of the mentors, the participating companies, and the mentored students.

This initiative is part of the ETSi's commitment to a comprehensive education that complements academic excellence by developing skills such as leadership, communication, decision-making, strategic vision, and team management. These competencies, increasingly in demand by the business world, are essential for facilitating the transition from the university environment to the professional world and promoting future female engineers' access to positions of responsibility.

Furthermore, the program strengthens the relationship between the University of Seville and the participating companies, creating a collaborative space that fosters both the identification of emerging talent and the exchange of knowledge about the skills demanded by the industrial sector.

With the celebration of this third edition, the Higher Technical School of Engineering consolidates an initiative that contributes to promoting female vocations in engineering, promoting equal opportunities and strengthening the connection between university and business, favoring the incorporation of more women into scientific, technological and industrial development.
