Last Thursday, March 9th , the Royal Cavalry Armory of Seville held another edition of its bullfighting and university awards ceremony . In a solemn ceremony held on the sand of the bullring itself, the awards recognized, on the one hand, the best bullfighting performances of the 2022 April Fair, and on the other, the top academic records from each of the faculties and schools of the University of Seville. These awards were presented by Miguel Ángel Castro Arroyo, Rector of the University of Seville; Santiago de León y Domecq, Lieutenant of the Senior Brother of the Royal Cavalry Armory of Seville; Jesús Aguirre Muñoz, President of the Andalusian Parliament; Antonio Sanz Cabello, Minister of the Presidency; and José Carlos Gómez Villamandos, Minister of Universities, Research, and Innovation.
Francisco Javier Urrios Gómez has been awarded the prize for Best Degree Record at the ETSi by the Royal Cavalry Armory of Seville.
From our school, the student awarded the prize for Best Academic Record in the last graduating class was Francisco Javier Urrios Gómez, a graduate in Aerospace Engineering . Congratulations, Francisco Javier!
Urrios Gomez shared his thoughts with us. “When they told me, I was surprised; it wasn't something I expected,” he said. “In the end, among people in your degree program, you get an idea of what your grade is like because you know your classmates better, and you might also need it if you apply for a mobility program, but at the faculty level, it's something that I think takes everyone by surprise.”
Javier, who received the award at the Real Maestranza, told us: “I am very proud to have received this award, and I hope to be able to demonstrate everything the school has taught me over these years about the engineering profession. “I also wanted to remember my fellow graduates. There is only one award, but there are many more committed and qualified professionals who come out of this school. Francisco Javier Urrios Gómez, originally from Córdoba, began his Bachelor's Degree in Aerospace Engineering at the University of Seville in 2018-2019, after obtaining the highest score on the university entrance exams in his province. He graduated as an Aerospace Engineer in 2022 and is currently pursuing a Master's Degree in Aeronautical Engineering at the Higher Technical School of Engineering (ETSI).
“This year I’m still here in Seville, and if all goes well, next year I’ll be in Milan as part of the Double Master’s program in Aeronautical and Space Engineering. I chose this option because in the future I’d like to work in something related to space, and I’m really excited about it. It’s a great advantage that the ETSI offers opportunities like this.”.
