VI Award for Innovation in Engineering Teaching at the ETSi of Seville
VI Award for Innovation in Engineering Teaching at the ETSi of Seville
The Management of the Higher Technical School of Engineering (ETSi), with the aim of promoting the pedagogical updating of its teaching staff and the use of new teaching resources, calls on the Teaching and Research Staff (PDI) of the ETSi to participate in the “VI Award for Innovation in Teaching in Engineering of the ETSi of Seville”, which, with the vocation of being celebrated biennially, is called in its fifth edition in the current academic year 2022/2023.
Several years after the phasing out of the old LRU degrees, university studies in Spain are now fully adapted to the European Higher Education Area, with training based on the acquisition of competencies. Specifically, the School of Engineering (ETSi) at the University of Seville currently offers more than 600 courses across its Bachelor's and Master's degree programs, providing a valuable framework for reflecting on teaching methodologies or any innovation that could impact the education of ETSi students. Thus, the “VI Teaching Innovation Award in Engineering at the ETSI of Seville” aims to stimulate reflection on the design and practice of teaching in Engineering within the current socio-academic context, as well as to encourage student learning through teaching activities in the classroom and laboratories. These activities should improve, among other things, students' capacity for autonomous and/or cooperative learning, their participation and creativity, their communication skills, the learning assessment processes, and the effective incorporation of tools that facilitate the aforementioned tasks. Furthermore, the award seeks to identify innovative actions that can contribute to improving teaching and, where appropriate, be extended to other subjects.
Submissions must be sent electronically (.pdf and .docx) as an email attachment to the Subdirectorate responsible for teaching innovation (innovacion-etsi@us.es) by October 31, 2023.The Subdirectorate responsible for teaching innovation at ETSi will send confirmation of receipt, which may be considered proof of submission.
