The BeOneSec Cybersecurity and Cyberintelligence Chair has been inaugurated

The University of Seville and the digital security company, BeOneSec, have signed an agreement creating the new BeOneSec Chair of Cybersecurity and Cyberintelligence.

Based at the Higher Technical School of Engineering (ETSi) of the University of Seville, this chair has as its fundamental objectives the promotion of teaching and interdisciplinary research activities focused on the development of new strategies and technologies in the field of cybersecurity and cyber intelligence, as well as reflection on current challenges in these fields.

The new chair will be headed by Professor Rafael Estepa Alonso of the Department of Telematics Engineering at the University of Seville, with Professor José Manuel Fornés Rumbao, also of the same department, serving as secretary. This chair will provide students with the opportunity to integrate into an academic environment that promotes research and innovation.

BeoneSec, one of the leading companies in the cybersecurity sector, with a strong specialization in offensive security and cyber intelligence, is driving this initiative, marking a milestone in the collaboration between the public university and the private sector to promote research and development, innovation and dissemination in one of the most critical and fastest growing fields today: cybersecurity.

To achieve this, the activities of the chair will include the identification of prospective projects and studies, as well as the dissemination of their results and the joint organization of R&D events.

Furthermore, postgraduate and specialization courses will be organized for both students and professionals, along with outreach and training activities that promote knowledge of cybersecurity and cyber intelligence. The chair also plans to hold forums where academics, business leaders, and students can exchange ideas and knowledge. These activities will be geared towards strengthening talent and opportunities for young people, including the awarding of scholarships to students and prizes for the best projects related to the chair's field.

This new project represents an excellent opportunity for ETSi students. Through this chair, students will not only receive more practical training aligned with market needs, but will also have the opportunity to participate in research activities that will enrich their academic and professional experience.

With the creation of the BeoneSec Cybersecurity and Cyberintelligence Chair, ETSi reinforces its commitment to excellence in training and innovation in a sector that is strategic for today's society.
