The Royal Academy of Engineering holds an In Memoriam session in honor of academician José Domínguez Abascal

session on November 18th dedicated to His Excellency Mr. José Domínguez Abascal , a full member of the Academy and a prominent figure in the field of Spanish engineering. The event brought together family members, representatives from the academic and professional worlds, as well as members of the institution, who paid tribute to his human and scientific legacy.

The session was opened by the president of the Royal Academy of Engineering, Mr. Jaime Domínguez Abascal , who welcomed the attendees and highlighted the outstanding career of the honoree, emphasizing his commitment to teaching, research and technological innovation.

The commemorative session then took place, structured around a series of speeches that offered a broad and personal perspective on Domínguez Abascal. Participants included:

  • Mr. Andrés Sáez Pérez , director of the Higher Technical School of Engineering of the University of Seville.

  • Mr. Manuel Doblaré Castellano, RAI academic.

  • Ms. Pilar Aranda Ramírez , Professor of Physiology and former Rector of the University of Granada.

  • Mr. César Álvarez Alonso , General Manager of Envision Group in Spain.

  • Mr. Pelayo Domínguez , son of the honored academic.

The event was closed by the president of the RAI, Jaime Domínguez Abascal, who stressed the importance of keeping alive the legacy of an academic whose vision and dedication continue to be a reference for future generations of engineers.
