The USRacing motorcycle team celebrates its 15th Anniversary
The US motorcycle racing team took advantage of the event to announce its new name: eUSRacing
The Higher Technical School of Engineering of the University of Seville hosted the celebration of 15th Anniversary of the USRacing motorcycle teamWith a history marked by the evolution from combustion to electric motorcycles, the event not only commemorated the team's achievements over these 15 years, but also marked a significant milestone with a name change and rebranding: from USRacing to eUSRacing.
This change in the team's name is, on the one hand, a nod to their long-standing connection with the field of engineering, as the team was founded in 2009 by a group of students from the ETSI (School of Engineering). The addition of the "and" In this new definition, it pays homage to those beginnings and strongly links them to the cardinal knowledge to be developed in a project of this type.
The “US” This represents the cross-disciplinary nature of the team, which, after those initial steps, considered it essential to broaden the scope of the project in order to aspire to higher goals. In this way, the team integrated students from many other departments of the University of Seville, such as the Faculties of Physics, Mathematics, Business, the School of Computer Engineering, and the Higher Polytechnic School, among others.
Finally, they retain in their nomenclature the word that gives meaning to this project: Racing. This continues to represent the mission and competitive spirit that drives the team to improve year after year.
The event, presided over by Carmen Gallardo Cruz, Vice-Rector for Students at the University of Seville, was also attended by Silvia del Pozo Sánchez, Deputy Mayor and Delegate for Sports and Health Promotion of the Seville City Council; Andrés Sáez Pérez, Director of the Higher Technical School of Engineering at the University of Seville; Sergio Esteban Roncero, Delegate of the Rector for the Promotion of Technology Transfer in Teaching Innovation at the University of Seville; and Paula Saucedo Rodríguez, Team Leader of the University of Seville's eUSRacing Team. Numerous members who have been part of the team over the past 15 seasons were also present, as well as all the professors from the Higher Technical School of Engineering who have served as mentors.
Since its founding in 2009, the motorcycle racing team eUSRacing The University of Seville has established itself as a benchmark in the university field, combining engineering, innovation and competition in the exciting world of motorcycling.
The team participates in the international MotoStudent championship, a competition that brings together universities from all over the world at the MotorLand Aragón circuit, where students apply their theoretical knowledge in a real project of high technical demand.
Beyond designing and manufacturing a motorcycle, USRacing aims to train the engineers of the futureThe students not only work on the technical development of the motorcycle, but they must also manage the project's financing, seeking sponsors and collaborating with companies and public and private institutions.
This unique combination of technical and business challenges has a clear purpose: to provide team members with a formative experience that transcends the classroom, preparing them for the challenges of the working world.
Over the years, USRacing has evolved significantly. What began as a project focused on internal combustion motorcycles has shifted towards sustainability with the implementation of an electric prototype in recent MotoStudent events. This change reflects the team's commitment to innovation and new technological trends in the automotive sector
The team comprises over 40 students who work in various departments. This multidisciplinary approach ensures the team's success not only in the competition itself, but also in other areas crucial to achieving its goals. In this way, the students experience firsthand that teamwork is the sum of each and every role and individual within the team, and that the results will be a product of this well-oiled and firmly established system.
