The Higher Technical School of Engineering (ETSi) of the University of Seville hosted the conference “Transformation of the Construction Sector: an opportunity for the development of Civil Engineering”, an initiative focused on analyzing the structural changes that the sector is going through and their impact on the employability and professional practice of civil engineers.

The main objective of the event was to provide participants with an updated overview of the transformations redefining the construction industry, driven by digitalization, sustainability, and the integration of new technologies. In this context, the event addressed the main technical and operational challenges facing the sector, as well as emerging opportunities for professional development in strategic areas.

During the session, the need to adapt the training and skills of future engineers to a constantly evolving environment was highlighted, where innovation and specialization are key to responding to the demands of the labor market.

The event is part of the collaboration agreement between GAESCO and ETSi, and has included the participation of the Construction Labor Foundation, thus reinforcing the connection between the academic field and the business fabric to promote the transfer of knowledge and the professional integration of graduates.
