Keyter-Intarcon-Genaq Chair Award
The Keyter-Intarcon-Genaq Chair on Air Conditioning, Refrigeration and Atmospheric Water Production Technologies has awarded the Master's Thesis of Daniel Sánchez Guerrero, a student of the Master in Industrial Engineering at the Higher Technical School of Engineering of the University of Seville, entitled "Thermodynamic analysis of an ecobooster cascade cycle of R290 and R600 for the production of very high temperature water.".
This project addresses the thermodynamic analysis of a cascade water-to-water Ecobooster heat pump, using R290 and R600a refrigerants, for the production of very high-temperature water. The thermodynamic analysis is performed theoretically, through the study of the complete system's thermodynamic cycle and the selection of components. The system under study is an irreversible water-to-water heat pump designed to heat mains water inlet at 12°C to two stages of 50°C and 90°C, respectively. The feasibility of this process has been studied, specifically whether the desired temperature can be achieved.
