2nd ETSI Ideas Competition
🚀 2nd ETSI Ideas Competition: Your first startup starts here
Have you ever noticed a problem on campus, in your hobbies, or in industry and thought, "I could solve this with technology"?
Great companies are born because someone decided to take action. At ETSI, we want to give you the boost you need to turn that idea into a reality. If you're in your first years, you have a fresh, open-minded perspective. If you're working on your undergraduate or master's thesis or internship, you have the technical tools to build it. This competition is for everyone!
To guide you, you have access to the official guidelines with the 15 key points of the project. As members of the jury and investors (Business Angels), we'd like to share a little "trick" on how we interpret these points to assess your potential:
- 🎬 The 60-Second Challenge (Point 15): The rules state that the video is optional. Our advice: start there. Before writing a single line, record a 1-minute video on your phone explaining what problem you solve. It's the best exercise in clarity.
- 💡 Fall in love with the problem (Points 1, 2, and 10): Don't invent solutions by looking for problems. Identify a real need and draw the exact profile of the person who suffers from it daily.
- ⚔️ Why you (Points 3, 4 and 8): Research how people are solving it right now and show us why your approach is better, faster or cheaper.
- 👟 Go out into the street (Point 12): To validate the model, talk to potential customers. Real surveys are worth more than any guesswork.
- 🛠️ Show us something (Point 13): A Minimum Viable Product (MVP) doesn't have to be perfect. A 3D design, a simulation, or a simple prototype helps us visualize your magic.
- 💶 The Numbers (Points 5 and 14): Make realistic projections. How will you generate income and who will pay you? A good project must be sustainable.
- 🌍 Impact (Points 6, 7 and 11): Think big. Summarize your model in the Lean Canvas and tell us how your idea will impact society in the medium term.
📅 Important Dates
- April 30, 2026: Registration Deadline
- May 22, 2026: End of the competition
You have the opportunity to take the first step towards your professional future. Put your notes aside for a while, turn on your camera, and start with your first minute!
